God listens.

God hears.
God understands.

God never interrupts.
God never argues.
God never puts me down.
What an incredible friend!

I ask a question…
and keep on talking.
I add a few fantasies
and dream my dreams.
God listens.

I talk… on, and on, and on.
I fill up the silence.
God never interrupts.

Somehow, I suspect
God has something to say.
It’s time to let
God get a word in edgewise.

Today, perhaps,
I will be like my friend God.
Today, perhaps,
I will listen.

Or at least… try.
